Free Domain Name Registration FAQ

1. You can 'park' your Domain Name on WebPageMania/PCTribe for free if you aren't ready to use it! You pay no hosting fee's until you start to upload files to the WebPageMania/PCTribe Web Server. While you are parked a "WebPageMania parked domain" page will appear when people visit your site.
   
   Free parking does not include domain name registration/renewal. To become eligible for free domain name registration/renewal you must sign up to one of our Webhosting plans.

2. If your site is already operational, sign up for one of our plans and get your registration fee paid by us ... and never have to worry about the registration fee again as long as you choose us as your host! You will need to switch your domain to our registrar and list us as the 'Billing' contact. Once switched, your registration will be renewed for one (1) year PLUS whatever time is remaining on the registration at your old registrar (This is standard practice when transferring from one registrar to another. Don't be mislead by Webhosting companies that imply they are giving you 'something for nothing' by extending your "transfered" domain registration by the amount of the new registration PLUS the time left on the old one! All registrars do this! You would get this no matter what domain registrar you transfered to.)

3. Change your domain DNS setting with you current registrar to point to the WebPageMania/PCTribe DNS servers (dns1.webpagemania.net, dns2.webpagemania.net) and sign up for one of our plans. You are billed the monthly hosting fee. There is no need to list WebPageMania/PCTribe as a contact. You will continue to be responsible for paying the yearly registration fee (although we don't see why you would want to do this...since choosing option 1 or 2 means you no longer have to pay the annual renewal fee, and in reality you are still in total control of your domain!).

Wait a minute...I'm required to sign up for hosting and pay the first months hosting fee to get a "free" domain name! Isn't your initial 'hosting' fee just a 'domain name fee' in disguise?

Absolutely not! Unless your domain is 'parked' somewhere you're going to have to pay 'someone' to host it. You pay for a month of hosting, you get a month of hosting. With us, on top of the hosting fee, you've picked a domain and had it registered to you! You pay nothing for this. You pay nothing because you've decided to give your hosting business to us. We appreciate that. Stay with us for a year and we will renew it for you...free of charge! Our way of saying THANKS for your continued patronage.

Hey, this is great! How do I find a Domain Name so I can get started?

Click on "Search for a Domain Name" below to search for an available Domain Name (Don't be discouraged if you don't find one right away. There are LOTS of two word Domain Names or oddly spelled domain names still available. Don't be fooled by the so-called .com name shortage! With a little imagination and effort, you can have a .com domain name that is perfect for what you need!

NOTE: WebPageMania/PCTribe recommends that you find a dot-com [.com] domain name if possible. Despite all the 'new' domain extensions available, dot-com is first and foremost the extension most folks are familiar with and recognize! However you can also register .net and .org with WebPageMania/PCTribe)!!

Once you find your domain name, pick a plan on the "Sign Me Up" page and type the Domain Name into the "Gimme my FREE Domain Name" box at the bottom of the page. Then click I Agree!
